As it is not provided with the Athena widget set, an advanced file selection widget (Figure 3.7) has been implemented. It allows operating system transparent specification of files using a string sub-widget (including a GNU Emacs-like [81] filename completion). Operating system independent traversal of the directory tree and the selection of existing files is provided using list sub-widgets.
