10. Evaluation of Quantum Simulation Approaches

In the previous chapters we discussed several numerical approaches to the simulation of quantum transport in mesoscopic device structures. This chapter is devoted to the numerical evaluation of the approaches with regard to TCAD purposes.

We first compare the QTBM and the finite difference Wigner function method (WFM) for coherent transport. In this case both methods simulate the same model and results should agree. We then discuss the discrepancy in the simulation results from both methods.
