2.4.2 Queue Manager

The queue manager is responsible for the scheduling of the queued tasks and for distribution to the registered hosts.

The queue manager is also responsible for the load balancing. For this reason the framework monitors the workload of all registered workstations by periodic load polling on each machine. A weight is calculated, with individual load limits, performance, and number of CPUs for each host. The framework uses this ranking for the distribution of jobs ensuring efficient resource utilization and avoiding overloading the workstations.
