2.4.0.2 Power Consumption

With the omni-presence of portable electronic systems, their power consumption is becoming increasingly important for their users. The duration of operation of such devices with one set of batteries can either be extended by increasing the capacity of their batteries, which often also means increasing their weight, or by decreasing their power consumption. Hence, the power consumed by the electronic circuit is crucial to these devices' operation cycle. As far as single devices are concerned, their power consumption is mainly determined by their supply voltage Vdd and their off-state current Ioff.
