3.3.4.1 Data Ports

A model reads data from its input ports and makes its results available at the output ports. The nature of those ports is described in the definition of the model as depicted in Figure 3.2. Each of which includes the port's name and the type of data that are expected or delivered to the port. This means that the definition of the model has to state clearly what kind of data is expected at each input port and what kind of data it will produce at its output ports.
