3.5.1 Electron-Phonon Scattering

The influence of strain on acoustic phonon scattering is taken into account through the modification of the number of final equivalent valleys and the final electron energy.

The final energy is given by the following expression:

    $\displaystyle E_{fin}=E_{in}\mp\hbar\omega_{V_{1}V_{2}}+\Delta E^{(V_{1},V_{2})}_{ij},$
    $\displaystyle \Delta E^{(V_{1},V_{2})}_{ij}=\Delta E^{(V_{1})}_{j}-\Delta E^{(V_{2})}_{i},$ (3.66)

where $ \Delta E^{(V_{1},V_{2})}_{ij}$ is the difference between the minima of the valleys $ V_{1}$ and $ V_{2}$ , $ V_{k}=X,L$ is the valley type and indices $ i$ and $ j$ denote the initial and final orientations of the valleys, respectively. S. Smirnov:
