3.3 Project Save Files

Unlike most other make utilities, VMake collects and stores project information between different runs. This information is stored in a project save file in the top configuration dependent directory of the project. The full dependence information with time stamps, file types, and include dependences is stored in a LISP like syntax in this file. During startup of VMake the project save file is read again and the information is compared with the current definitions from the description files. No longer valid files like out-of-date object files, libraries, and programs are automatically deleted to save storage space.
