6 CASE Tools

  ``The really great programmer doesn't write programs.  He writes tools that write his programs for him.''  David Boundy, [Bou91] In addition of handling dependences between files, VMake implements some CASE functionality. The UNiversal FUnction Generator (UNFUG) as preprocessing tool and the Tool Abstraction Concept (TAC) for language binding and reference documentation extraction are implemented as stand alone tools using the VLisp interpreter of the VMake executable with different LISP code[Fas94a]. Automatic code generation is a design goal of modern CASE tools[Fis91].
