Simplifications for Uncoupled Diffusion (Model DIFN)

In cases where only one dopant is present, the second line in (3.2-5) vanishes and the flux is given by (3.2-7), where is the field enhancement factor ().

In view of computational expense this model is much more efficient than the other model. Therefore this model (DIFN) should be used for diffusion under intrinsic conditions (all dopant concentrations below intrinsic carrier concentration), if only one dopant is present, or to get a quick but less accurate prediction of how the profile might look like.
