The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has elevated our colleague Josef to Senior Member. The IEEE is the world’s largest association of technical professionals focused on technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering, telecommunications, and allied disciplines. IEEE Senior Members must show experience reflecting professional maturity, have been in professional practice for at least ten years, and display significant performance over a period of at least five years in professional practice. Alexander Toifl was awarded the faculty’s prize (“Fakultätspreis”) by the dean of the faculty Univ.Prof. Rupp and the dean of academic affairs Univ.Prof. Strasser on Fri 21, 2018. The ceremony took place at the annual “Fakultätsfest”, where Alexander was presenting his master’s thesis “Modeling and Simulation of Thermal Annealing of Implanted GaN and SiC”. The faculty’s prize honors outstanding master’s and PhD theses that are presented at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
