5.6 VOOPS

Since the VISTA project is committed to standardized programming languages, and since there does not exist a standard for C++ presently (ANSI base document [Elli90], [Stro86]), VOOPS (Vienna Object-Oriented Programming System) was created to provide simple object-oriented programming capabilities for C in the VISTA project, without having to bother with complex syntactic constructs of current object-oriented languages. This is the reason why VOOPS is considered to be an advanced case tool rather than a complete object-oriented programming language.
