10.2 Robustness

A particular strength of SIESTA is its robustness. SIESTA is not susceptible to single point failures and, therefore, transient problems of the computing environment (network failures, operating system failures) are not lethal for TCAD investigations. In particular, extremely extensive optimizations taking a couple of days benefit from that robustness. As a consequence, users can carry out optimizations with low effort since they are relieved from a continuous care.
