====== Stefan Rotter ====== ===== Biography ===== Stefan Rotter studied Physics at Vienna University of Technology (Austria) and at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). His PhD focused on quantum transport through mesoscopic systems (advisor: Joachim Burgdörfer). During his postdoc at Yale University (USA) he worked with Douglas Stone on the mesoscopic Kondo effect and on laser theory. After his return to Austria he built up is own independent group, which he now runs as a full professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Vienna University of Technology. The group activities are focused on the following topics: scattering through complex and disordered media, micro and random lasers, cavity quantum electrodynamics, and various non-hermitian phenomena. ===== Wigner-specific research ===== (selection) * Pierrat, Romain and Ambichl, Philipp and Gigan, Sylvain and Haber, Alexander and Carminati, Rémi and Stefan Rotter, Invariance Property of Wave Scattering Through Disordered Media, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences **111**, 17765 (2014) * Stefan Rotter and Ambichl, Philipp and Libisch, Florian, Generating Particlelike Scattering States in Wave Transport", Physical Review Letters **106**, 120602 (2011) ===== Affiliation(s) ===== * Professor, Institute of Theoretical Physics, TU Wien, Austria ===== Additional information ===== * University Profile * Research Group Website
