The PIF binary files resulting from VLSICP runs can be viewed using the VISTA PIF browser, which presents hierarchical and iconified view of the PIF construct contained in a PIF binary file to the user. The PIF browser invoked on an example PBF file is shown in Fig. 8.4. Output attributes can be selected and visualized through the xpif2d framework visualizer. Examples of xpif2d output can be found in the sections below.
