5.1.3 Using Results of Preceding Tools

The second item in the tool-flow of Example 5.1, which is labeled dios, encapsulates the DIOS process simulator. It will be used to execute the simulation statements which have been compiled by LIGAMENT before. To refer to the file containing these statements the dios tool uses a template symbol ligament.dios-cmd in its cmdline template. Instead of using a symbol name ligament.dios-cmd we could also use dios-cmd in this context, since no input port known under this name exists and implicit naming will identify ligament.dios-cmd as the source for the symbol's value (see also Section 3.4.2 on page [*]).
