2.3.3 Threshold Design

The accuracy problems discussed above and the difficulties in connection with threshold-voltage definition laid down in Chapter E are strong arguments against using \ensuremath{V_{\mathit{T}}} as a design parameter. The approach followed in this work is to use the worst-case \ensuremath{I_{\mathit{off}}} as a design parameter, and to extract \ensuremath{V_{\mathit{T}}} afterwards for a purely informational purpose. The details of this numerical approach and an extensive example are given in Section 3.3 and Chapter 6.
