By specifying the goal with a symbolicName it is easy to update a single file or a list of files in a platform independent manner. In this case dependences are checked according to the information of the associated file goal. Because the checks are restricted to direct dependences only a minimum set of files is updated in this mode. The dependence checks may cross directories and project boundaries depending on the checking area.
