Doctoral Candidates
Balázs Bámer
At the Institute for Microelectronics from January 2023 to October 2025
Balázs Bámer studied dopant implantation and activation as a doctoral candidate in the laboratory and worked on a model for the activation of dopants in SiC as a function of the implantation conditions, such as the temperature. He received his MSc in computer science from the Technical University of Budapest in 2001 and worked in industrial software development and in academia before joining the institute in January 2023.
Christoph Lenz
At the Institute for Microelectronics until April 2023
Christoph Lenz worked on high-performance algorithms and data structures as a doctoral candidate in the laboratory, which he joined in October 2022. He studied technical mathematics at TU Wien, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and the degree of Diplomingenieur in 2019.
Students
Josip Bobinac
At the Institute for Microelectronics until January 2023
Josip Bobinac developed plasma etching models in the laboratory while studying in the Master’s program Computational Science and Engineering at TU Wien. He received his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2018 and then worked as an electronics engineer at Mikrotrend in Zagreb, Croatia.
Julius Piso
At the Institute for Microelectronics until February 2023
Julius Piso helped to develop fast empirical process models and geometric advection algorithms in the laboratory from January 2023, while studying in the Master’s program Computational Science and Engineering at TU Wien. He received his Bachelor’s degree in technical physics in 2020.
