A new DELL PowerEdge high performance computing cluster has been acquired. The system is based on DELL’s PowerEdge R740 platform using INTEL Cascade Lake CPUs. The compute nodes provide 480 physical cores (960 logical cores) and about 3.5TB of main memory. A high performance INTEL Omni-Path network is used and 48TB RAID-based storage is available. NVIDIA Tesla T4 GPUs provide additional acceleration of machine learning, data analytics, and ray-tracing applications.
