We are proud to announce the release of the textbook “Stochastic Approaches to Electron Transport in Micro- and Nanostructures”, written by our colleagues Mihail Nedjalkov, Siegfried  Selberherr  and Ivan Dimov, by Springer Nature, Switzerland.

The aim of the book is to develop a clear link between mathematical current transport models for semiconductor devices and their stochastic Monte Carlo simulation methods. A wide range of stochastic algorithms is covered, starting from classical transport in conventional large-area devices using the Boltzmann equation to quantum transport in ultimately scaled devices based on the Wigner formalism. By tapping into their decade-long experience in the field, the authors provide a comprehensive description of the various intricacies encountered in these fascinating problems. Thereby, the book fills the gap between other monographs which often focus on either the physical properties of the various transport models or on purely theoretical Monte Carlo approaches focusing on the solution of Fredholm integral equations.
With its broad coverage of both basic and advanced aspects, the targeted audience includes professionals and students interested in the field: engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, and virtually anybody interested in the application of Monte Carlo methods to semiconductor devices.
