The Gold Standard at High Altitudes

A new communication standard aims to circulate safety-critical data in passenger planes quicker than currently possible, but with less cabling

We are proud to announce that on May 8th 2021 Die Presse has published an article related to the work performed by Michael Waltl and his team in cooperation with TTTech Computertechnik AG in the FFG-funded project Innovative Networks for Networked Aircraft Subsystems. The research focuses on developing faster communication systems for aircraft, where the systems must execute critical applications within a few milliseconds. The core technology of these systems are ASICs, which consist of billions of transistors. At the Institute for Microelectronics, the reliability of these hardware components is closely examined.
