Michael Stadler, was born in Vienna, in 1982. He studied electrical engineering at the Technische Universität Wien where he received the degree of Diplomingenieur in 2004. He was university assistant at the Institute for Microelectronics from 2004 to 2007. He holds a doctoral degree in technical sciences from TU Wien (2008), a master's degree in legal studies from JKU Linz (2015) and Universität Wien (2022).

Michael is registered as Austrian and European patent attorney, works as lecturer at various universities in Austria in the area of intellectual property law, and organizes exam preparation courses for patent attorney candidates (ipcourses.org ). Furthermore, he is lay judge at the Higher Regional Court of Vienna in patent matters and chairman of the legal committee of the chamber of Austrian patent attorneys and the Austrian representative (full member) to the litigation committee of the Institute of European Patent attorneys (EPI). Moreover, Michael is co-author of a patent procedural law manual ("Verfahren vor dem Patentamt") and first editor of the leading commentary of Austrian patent law.
